Crossout: Complete Game Guide

Crossout is a team-based online game about battles in custom-built vehicles in a post-apocalyptic world. Learn how to build vehicles, win fights, and upgrade your garage.

What is Crossout

Crossout is a free third-person shooter where players battle in custom combat vehicles in a world after a nuclear disaster. Every fight is a 12v12 team battle where it's important not only to shoot, but also to repair your vehicle, use cover, and coordinate with your teammates.

The main feature of the game is the vehicle constructor. You build your vehicle from parts: choose a chassis, engine, weapons, armor, and modules. This means every vehicle in the game is unique, and you can customize it to your playstyle.

Gameplay and Modes

Crossout has several main modes:

  • Assault — capture and hold points on the map.
  • Arena — destroy all enemy vehicles.
  • Salvage — collect resources and deliver them to base.
  • Battle Royale — survive to the end in a massive battle.

Vehicle Building

Building a vehicle is the heart of Crossout. Here are the main principles:

  • The chassis determines speed and part capacity. Light chassis are faster but weaker in combat.
  • The engine affects top speed and acceleration. Don't forget about a spare engine.
  • Weapons are your guns, machine guns, and rockets. Combine different types for versatility.
  • Armor protects from damage. Install it on vulnerable spots.
  • Modules give bonuses: repair, speed, damage. Choose based on your style.

Tips for Beginners

  • Don't be afraid to repair your vehicle — it's part of the gameplay.
  • Use cover: open terrain is dangerous.
  • Coordinate with your team: call for help if under fire.
  • Collect resources on the map — they're needed for upgrades.
  • Experiment with builds: there's no single perfect vehicle.
  • Watch the minimap: it shows enemy and ally positions.
